Maintenance Technician

Overview

The Maintenance Technician must have an extensive knowledge of mechanical power transmissions, crushers, conveyor belts, Raymond mills, front end loaders, forklifts, bagging machines and basic fabrication. Hours will be 7AM-5PM, Monday through Friday.


What You Will Do

  • Develop and adhere to a detailed lubrication and PM schedule for all equipment
  • Oversee/perform general repairs of all plant equipment
  • Fabricate or oversee fabrication of chutes, joppers, piping, equipment supports and other machining as required and with little input from management
  • Assist production group as required by management
  • Train others in plant maintenance
  • Be available for call-outs as management requires
  • Perform/oversee mill rebuilds in a timely manner to reduce mill downtime
  • Maintain various maintenance records in electronic and hardcopy format including part inventories as required
  • Inform management of all problems with equipment that might have an effect on the production process or quality of the products

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-4 years maintenance experience required
  • Mill maintenance experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of welding, fabrication, and electrical troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of practice and learning techniques associated with machines and/or vehicles
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Effectively interact with all levels within the organization as well as vendors, customers and industry professions in a professional and dignified manner
  • Basic working knowledge of computers, internet and email
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
  • Able to work 10 hour shifts
  • Able to be on call
  • Able to work multiple shifts (night/day)
